Bikini Girl

Bikini Girl was asked by an entertainment reporter (anybody who which one?) if she wanted her fifteen minutes of fame to be remembered as “Bikini Girl.”  You have to be kidding.  She enters the elite pantheon of women like Supergirl, Obama Girl, and Wonder Woman.

I hope she has a long career and saves her money even if the judges didn’t like her.

Tips on Filing Your Tax Return

1. File early.
2. If you always wait until the last minute or you always file late or you always get audited, then go to the Yellow Pages to find an accountant to prepare your return for you.  Many companies have relationships with accountants and can get you a discount on their services.  Go to your company bulletin board or ask Human Resources or Personnel where you work and ask if this is true for your employer.
3. Write down the amount of your Rebate from 2008 if you got a check.
4. Go to http://www.irs.gov/ for tips and free information from the Infernal Revenue Service themselves.

Pictures of Planets

NASA’s unmanned division (the only worthwhile part of NASA) is planning an orbital telescope that will image Earth-sized planets orbiting stars in nearby stellar systems.  This is part of the SESP (Search for Extrasolar Planets) program.  I will post more information if readers want it.

Inside Edition’s Fashion Reporter for the Casey Anthony Hearing airdate Friday 30 January 2009

The fashion reporter for Inside Edition needs glasses and needs to know something about corporate dress codes and proper business attire.   To quote:

“Casey Anthony walked into court with her hair in a bun, wearing a business suit. “

Look at the first two photos –

http://www.insideedition.com/news.aspx?storyID=2569

A pants suit that does not match is not a business suit.

This is a business suit

So is this.

And this.

and this

A business suit is matching coat, vest, and skirt with white blouse.  Preferably, you either wear a white scarf or a string of pearls.

Black high heels, hosiery, and a brief case or attache case complete the look.

Casey Anthony is on the low Casual Friday / Hillary Clinton / working class end of the business attire spectrum.  One would hope that the first female president looks like Governor Palin but has the brains of Hillary Clinton instead of the looks of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantsuits and the brains of Sarah Palin.

I now get off my soapbox and go back to watching the game.

Oh wait, I forgot to give advice for those serious about a career in this Second Great Depression caused by Dubya (another dummy) and the Communist Republicans who nationalized the banks and auto companies, socialized corporate welfare for what Tom Wolfe calls (in Bonfire of the Vanities) “The Masters of the Universe — like Merrrill Lynch’s John Thane/Thain and GM’s Rick Wagoner.  National and socialism equals National Socialism or Nazi for short.

Serious career advice and fashion advice:

Hey, I really got to go watch the game.

Until then, search for me on the internet.  I’m all over it.  But you have to search intelligently to find my sites.

The IRS

Is anyone else ready to file their taxes but employers are dragging their feet in sending out W-2’s or other tx information for 2008?

If so, please complain to your Congressional delegation and to the new President to apply pressure to lazy employers.

The Reader

N/A

IMDB

Director N/A
Plot N/A
Cast N/A
Genre N/A

The male lead in the film does not do the right thing because it would put his law career at risk.  As a result, several even worse Nazis get light sentences while the illiterate female lead (who had to be 20 years old or younger at the time of the crime she is tried for) gets the heavy sentence.  I have already given too much of a plot spoiler already but this detail did stick in my mind.  I felt sorry for tKate Winslet’s Nazi character even though in real life my sympathies are entirely with German Jews and other European Jews.  Which is another point: a character in the Heidelberg Law School makes some remark about the Holocaust without acknowledging that many victims were German.   Yes, half of the twelve million (12,000,000) were Jewish but the other half were Protestants and Catholics.  Nazi Germany was at fault.  They all knew.  Heck, we knew.  The allies could have bombed the rail lines taking victims to the death camps and did not, despite how easy it would have been to do so.  The first victims were German and to belabor the fact that the first victims were Jewish also is to subtly say that they were different and therefore it was somehow okay.  Well, it is not okay.  I don’t blame the survivor’s daughter for not forgiving.

Never forget.  Never forgive.  Stop picking on minorities because we are all minorities.  Yes, even you the reader who is reading this.
